Bill Saltzman, PhD
Bill Saltzman, PhD (PSY#16235) is a licensed clinical psychologist and professor of marriage and family therapy at California State University, Long Beach where he co-directs the Counseling Psychology / Marriage & Family Therapy graduate program. Dr. Saltzman is pleased to be in private practice with the EFT Resource Center and offer therapy for individuals, couples and families contending with relational and life difficulties as well as mood and anxiety disorders. He embraces the attachment-based approach of EFT and prefers meeting in person, if possible, in his Pasadena office.
Dr. Saltzman also specializes in working with trauma, loss, and traumatic grief and he has pioneered relational approaches for navigating serious medical illness and end of life. This has involved setting up programs within the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute and Cancer Support Community Los Angeles where he conducted therapy with couples and families. Complementing his clinical practice, Dr. Saltzman has been a member of the UCLA Trauma Psychiatry Program for 23 years. In this capacity he has conducted research, developed evidence-based treatments, and published articles and books on the treatment of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
